Context

The Human Resources Department of a large group of food industry, specializing in the production of manufactured products based on poultry, sought a BlueXML partner to develop a computer supported collaborative work. The company markets its products in over 130 countries on 5 continents, and employs 10,000 persons, including 5,000 in France and about 800 people are immediately concerned by the implementation of this project.

The group as a whole wants to streamline a number of business processes including approval system, creating documents with immediate integration into the process and management of the documentary. More specifically, the HRD wants to streamline the management:

  1. the annual evaluation
  2. requests for leave of absence
  3. requests for authorization to hire or extension
  4. the drafting of employment contracts

This project, like any content management project, implied necessarily a dematerialisation proposition project. Although focused on process management, this project is therefore a first phase of data modeling, and continues with modeling processes.

This case study describes the methodology for implementing the use case No. 1, for the management of annual evaluation. This management includes the computerization of the assessment process and concluded it with the edition of the assessment itself as a pdf document.

This methodology takes place in 2 stages:

  • the modeling of the data used in the form
  • the modeling of the process

These two stages of modeling are based on a paper description of the "annual" process management and a paper version of the form associated.
