This article has the goal to demonstrate the powerful of BlueXML Developer Studio and its Alfresco generator. For this example, we use a tutorial written by Jeff Potts (Architect in Optaros) : http://ecmarchitect.com/archives/2007/11/19/785

The workflow written is this :

This 2 definitions describe the same workflow. Graphicly, the BlueXML diagram contains more elements but it's a choice of representation. With the traditional solution (with the automatical integration from jBoss Process Designer to Alfresco), we may create :

  • The jBPM definition
  • The model definition
  • The model properties
  • The web-client configuration

It is possible to simplify this operation with BlueXML Developer Studio, we may just create the complete definition with the modeler and generate after. All files are generated and ready to use.

Note : We work actually on a solution to integrate automatically jBPM definition in our editor.
